Once the monitoring components are installed on the SQL Server, Deadlock Detector immediately starts monitoring database activity, based on the options you have set during its installation. By default, the refresh rate of the monitor log is set to 0 minutes, which means it needs to be refreshed manually. In order to refresh the monitor log periodically, set a desired value for the frequency (in minutes) by which the monitor log will retrieve and display newly recorded lock or deadlock events.
